INFINITE POSSIBILITIES.

tRNA BIOLOGY

WITHOUT THE GENETIC CODE, THERE ARE NO INSTRUCTIONS FOR LIFE. WITHOUT tRNA, THAT CODE IS NOT TRANSLATED.

DNA holds the genetic instructions to create proteins, which carry out the functions of cellular life. Transfer RNA (tRNA) is the molecule that matches the genetic code to the correct amino acid and transfers it onto the growing polypeptide chain — it is impossible to make proteins without it.

tRNA decodes mRNA and transfers the appropriate amino acid to the growing amino polypeptide chain to create proteins that carry out the functions of cellular life.

WITH AN UNDERSTANDING OF tRNA BIOLOGY, WE CAN CLASSIFY AND TREAT PATIENTS BASED ON THEIR SHARED GENETIC MUTATIONS.

Many diseases are caused by mutations in genes that interrupt protein production. These mutations can be shared across diseases.

A nonsense mutation in any gene creates a premature termination codon, halting protein production early.

Most genetic medicines focus on replacing or correcting the mutated gene. However, Alltrna is engineering tRNAs to correct genetic mutations regardless of the gene or where it exists in the genome.

Alltrna’s engineered tRNA can specifically read a premature termination, or stop, codon and deliver the correct amino acid to restore the production of the full-length protein.

tRNA’S UNIQUE BIOLOGY ENABLES THERAPEUTICS WITH DISTINCT INHERENT ADVANTAGES

In addition to unifying drug development for many diseases, tRNA medicines also have therapeutic advantages, especially when compared to other types of genetic medicines:

UNLOCKING THE VAST THERAPEUTIC POTENTIAL WITHIN tRNA BIOLOGY

tRNAs play a central role in the translation of mRNA into proteins. Their stable structure, vast sequence diversity, and varied modification patterns provide large scope for turning them into effective medicines. Furthermore, tRNA biology modulates the complex code of DNA and RNA across translation and transcription. Beyond properly positioning amino acids in the final protein product, tRNA is involved in an entire framework for coordinating multicellular life. By controlling tRNA, we can regulate the protein universe and resolve disease.

tRNAs do more than correct mutations. tRNA is the most modified RNA, and its fragments are functional units.
